11/16/21 We were greeted at Beale by our great friends Wayne and Lisa and they made an amazing steak dinner for us! So awesome to see them again and it was great to be able to catch up!

11/17/21 Started the day with a 4 mile walk with Wayne and Lisa and then we were going to go visit my parents, but my father wasn't feeling well and asked us to postpone it a day. He ended up going to emergency with a kidney infection. Hopefully coming home Saturday. In the afternoon we did an easy 10 mile bike ride on base as the sun was setting.

11/18/21 Started day with 4 mile walk with Wayne and Lisa up to PavePaws, but we were stopped on the route by EOD due to ammunition surveys, clearing the base of any undetonated ammunition dating back to WWII. We went to Roseville for an appointment and met my mom for dinner at Lorenzos...my favorite mexican food restaurant in the country!! We also went to Quick Quack Car wash...a clean truck makes for a happy hubby!!

11/19/21 Started day with 4 mile walk with Lisa and then headed to Granite Bay for a pedicure with my mom. We were supposed to go the light show at their church that evening, but with my dad still in the hospital, it was cancelled.

11/20/21 Wayne and Lisa took us over to the Sutter Buttes for a beautiful bike ride. It was a perfect day and a great ride! We went just shy of 30 miles. We started the morning with a delicious breakfast at Cook 'n Pot in Yuba City and then headed another 15 miles to the parking lot for our ride. Though the restaurant didn't look the best from the outside, it was PACKED and their food and service were excellent. Not sure we burned all those breakfast calories, but we sure gave it the old college try!! We always love our time with Wayne and Lisa, and today was no different!! It's so nice to have friends with us here at Beale, and especially them!!

11/21/21 Lisa and I went for a 6 mile walk today. Wasn't intended to be quite that long, but we made it! It was a gorgeous day! Brian and I then went to BX and Commissary to pick up a few things and then a 12 mile bike ride around the base. The sunset was beautiful on the Buttes.

11/22/21 Girls went to groomer, truck got washed, gas tank got filled (4.45/gallon) and we got a bunch of stuff done around the trailer. No pictures and nothing fun to report. Beautiful day though and the girls smell and look great :-)

11/23/21 Went for a nice long bike ride (32 miles) around the base with Wayne and Lisa. It was a beautiful day and we got to see a lot of the base I had never seen. Got some grocery shopping done, and Brian bbqd a delicious flank steak that we had bought in Ennis MT from Deemos meats.

11/24/21 Started the day with a much needed hair appt and my dad finally got released from the hospital!! Yeay!!! We got some take out chinese food and had a wonderful dinner with my parents.

11/25/21 Happy turkey day!! So much to be thankful for especially for the wonderful friends and family we have been blessed with!! We started the day with breakfast at Ashlee and Taylor's new RV home and had a great visit with them!! Sooo good to see them!! They put together some delicious breakfast burritos and we had an awesome visit!! We then went up to my parents for turkey dinner. On the way, talked to Brians folks and heard about their delicious meal with Bret and Karen. So nice that COVID rules have changed and we can visit normally again! We celebrated Thanksgiving with them earlier this montb...Bret and Karen made the best stroganoff ever!! We had a wonderful visit with my parents as well and an awesome meal together. So grateful to have been blessed with our amazing family!

11/26/21 Today was errand day. Our water heater is not working on electric, so went to Camping world and Home Depot for parts and came back and changed them. Still an issue, but its working on gas, so more troubleshooting to follow. Also finally got some laundry done and finished putting up the Christmas tree and few decorations we have! Yeay!!

11/27/21 Brian worked on a few things around the house this morning and then we went for a nice 30 mile bike ride around the base. We stopped at the WWII German POW camp on base. In operation from March 1944 to July 1946, the camp had as many as 1,000 prisoners. The artwork in the cells was amazing. On the light gray walls of these solitary confinement buildings are elaborate drawings of nude women and calendars of days gone by, drawn by prisoners with too much time on their hands. The Beale POW Camp, more specifically the confinement cell block, serves as the only standing reminder of Camp Beale's significant role in World War II.

Weather has been great...sunny and mid sixties, with cool temps at night. Looks like no changes for the next week or so. Makes for great riding and sleeping! Spent the evening with my parents, finishing up the Thanksgiving leftovers and playing cards.

11/28/21 - 12/3/21 We have been running errands, decorating for Christmas, organizing and taking care of business stuff thats so easy to neglect! We have ridden our bikes as time allowed, and I have spent a lot of time on the computer uploading pictures to the blog and setting up file folders for pictures we want to keep. Its a tedious task, and not recommended that you wait 5 years like I did!

12/4/21 Had a great day with my parents. I was able to mow their property today (my happy thing to do!!), we had a nice dinner and played some cards.

12/5/21 Started the day with a cool, brisk 4 mile walk with Wayne and Lisa, and then went over to our friends Dave and Judy for a wonderful visit!! We met them 5 years ago at Bodega Bay and became instant friends! They always spoil us rotten with amazing food (Judy is a phenomenal cook!) and she puts together the most beautiful Christmas display in their house...absolutely gorgeous!! We finished off the visit learning and playing a card game called Hand and Foot...there WILL be a rematch!! We had a fantastic day and are so grateful for their friendship!! My father is back in the hospital and just praying that they can get to the bottom of all this stuff, so he can finally put all this behind him. Hes had a rough few weeks!

12/6/21 Started the day with a cool brisk 5 mile walk with Wayne and Lisa, and then headed to Roseville for the always dreaded dermatology appt. Spent the afternoon with my mom, doing laundry and playing cards waiting on news about my fathers tests.

12/7-12/8/21 Appts and errands...not much fun, but needed to be done.

12/9/21 Went to Dave and Judys to bake Christmas cookies and visit. We had such a fun day baking, creating and chatting!!

12/10/21 We received an email in the morning that Happily Ever Hanks, an RV You Tube couple we follow, were having a meet-up in Redding, and couldnt resist, so we drove 150 miles each way to meet them! What a great couple and a fun night!! So glad we made the trip!!

12/11/21 Girls got to sit on Santas lap today!! We then visited with my mom and she treated us to dinner at Lorenzos, my favorite Mexican restaurant!! After dinner, we visited my dad in the hospital and then made thelong trek back to Beale.

12/12/21 - 12/16/21 Weather started getting yucky. Beginning of an atmospheric river and it contued with heavy rain and wind for two long days. Got our booster shots for COVID, went to denist and got our teeth cleaned and started planning for the newest member of our family who we will pick up on the 20th!

12/17/21 Our friends Marti and Bobby came up to Beale to stay for the weekend!! So much fun listening to them, Jay and Brian remenisce about their Air Force time together back in the 80s.

12/18/21 Went to Wheatland cemetery to help participate in Naional Wreaths Accross America Day (third Saturday). Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission is to Remember, and Honor the fallen soldiers, PoWs, MIAs and all our military for their sacrifices for our country, coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,500 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad. It was an honor to participate. Wayne and Lisa, and Marti joined us. Jay and Becky are on the commitee for the the local cemetery and were kind enough to invite us! We followed the ceremony with breakfast at the grill in Wheatland and then met for dinner at Kobi Steakhouse in Lincoln for a delicious dinner!

12/19/21 Road trip day!! Drove to Bend OR to pick up Rylee. 850 mile day, but he is so worth it...even at CA gas prices!! Unfortunately, 10 miles from the Oregon border, highway 97 was closed due to ice, snow and accidents. Consequently, we had to head back to highway 5 and cross over at Ashland. It was semi plowed, but snow and ice on the roads made it a slow trip there on out. The ride home was fine on 97...road was open and we got back fairly quickly.

12/20/21 First full day with Rylee. We recooped in the morning from our long drive and then went over to my parents that evening.

12/21/21 Started the day with a 5 1/2 mile walk with Wayne and Lisa, and then went my parents for some baking and dinner.

12/22/21 Laundry and truck service day. Nice to be "home" for the day and let Rylee get used to his new home and family. He has been doing amazing with going potty outside!! The girls are still getting used to him, but overall, things are going great with him! I knew his mama and just fell in love with her, so when she had puppies it was just too hard to pass them up! Hes everything i imagined he'd be and we ate so grateful to Nadia and Brent (and Rosie!!) for trusting us with one of their babies.

12/23-12/24/21 We enjoyed a couple days of prepping for Christmas day and spending time with the new puppy. Hes doing great and we are so grateful to have him join the family. The girls have warmed up to him and they are starting to cuddle up together now. Its been really rainy and windy, so a good couple days to be home.

12/25/21 Had a wonderful Christmas with family at my parents house. My brother and his wife came up from the Bay Area and Ashlee and Taylor joined us as well. We started with breakfast together, ayed some LCR and then had a delicious tenderloin roast with mashed potatos and green bean casserole. It was a fun day and nice to be with family!

12/26/21 Today was a much needed down day topped off with a wonderful visit and dinner with Dave and Eileen. So great to see them again!! Dave made delicious enchilada casserole for dinner and we finished the evening with a couple games of skip-bo. The boys won, but to be continued next week!!

12/27/21 Worked on getting the house back in order. Took down the Christmas decorations and such, and then wen to my parents for leftover Christmas dinner.

12/28-12/31/21 We had a busy few days with a dermatolgy appt, lunch with Ashlee and Taylor at Lorenzos, taking the trailer to Camping World for a water heater repair, dinner with my parents, laundry and errands. The front brakes on the truck started grinding, so we borrowed my dads car for a few days u til we can get it in for repair.
